Question 182980: 2.
Please, I need to see this spelled out for me or I will never understand how to do this.

Simplify the algebraic expression
6z + 1 + 4x^2 - 3y3 + 7x - 8y2 + 2x2 - x + 5z - 17

and evaluate it for x = -2, y = -3, z = -5.
Identify the variables, constants, and coefficients in the simplified expression.

thank you. I'm very frustrated and need help badly.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 6z + 1 + 4x^2 - 3y3 + 7x - 8y2 + 2x2 - x + 5z - 17
first you need to combine all like terms:
(6z+5z)+(4x^2+2x^2)-3y3-8y^2+(7x-x)+(1-17)
11z+6x^2-3y^3-8y^2+6x-16
now replace x with -2, y with -3, z with -5.
11*-5+6*(-2)^2-3*(-3)^3-8*(-3)^2+6*(-2)-16
-55+6*4-3*-27-8*9-12-16
-55+24+81-72-12-16
-50 ans.
