You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simplify the following problem
(-7c^3d^4)(4cd^3)
I got as far as
(-7)4(cc^3)(d^4d^3)
%28-7c%5E3d%5E4%29%284cd%5E3%29
=-28c%5E4d%5E7
You were almost done. Just multiply the 4 and 7, and add exponents.

You're doing great. Now you need to multiply c and c%5E3 to get c%2Ac%5E3=c%5E1%2Ac%5E3=c%5E%281%2B3%29=c%5E4. So you basically add the exponents.

In addition, multiply d%5E4 and d%5E3 to get d%5E4%2Ad%5E3=d%5E%284%2B3%29=d%5E7

Note: you can only add the exponents if the bases are equal. So you CANNOT add the exponents of c%5E4 and d%5E3 since the bases "c" and "d" are different.

So %28-7c%5E3d%5E4%29%284cd%5E3%29=-28c%5E4%2Ad%5E7
