You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How are addition and multiplication used to solve a linear equation? Demonstrate by solving
-----------------------------
"15x + 7 = 31 + 3x"
Add 15x to both sides to get:
7 = 31 + 18x
Subtract 31 from both sides to get:
-24 = 18x
Divide both sides by 18 to get:
x = -24/18
Simplify:
x = -4/3
----------
