Question 182321: Dae Soo walks for 7 days. Here are the miles he walks during each of his first 4 days. Based on his patten, how many miles will he walk on the 7th day?
3 and 1/2, 4 and 3/4, 6, 7 and 1/2.

the difference between the first two terms is 5/4 and the difference between the 2nd and 3rd terms is 5/4. The difference between the 3rd and 4th terms is 6/4....so I suspect the difference between the 4th and 5th will be 6/4 and the difference between the 5th and 6th as well as the 6th and the 7th will be 7/4

so the 5th-7th terms are :36/4,43/4,and 50/4

so the 7th day he will have walked: 12 and 1/2 miles
