You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Lemon drops are to be mixed with jelly beans to make a 100 pound mixture priced at 1.48 per pound. Lemon drops coat 1.90 per pound, and jelly beans cost 1.30 per pound. How many pounds of each need to be used to make the mixture cost 1.48 per pound.
-------------------
Equation:
value + value = value
1.9x + 1.3(100-x) = 1.48*100
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
190x + 130*100 - 130x = 148*100
60x = 18*100
x = 30 lbs (amt. of lemon drops in the mixture)
100-x = 70 (amt. of jelly beans in the mixture)
