If the average of three numbers is 80, then the sum of those three numbers divided by 3 is 80. Multiply 80 times 3, then subtract 74, then subtract 78, what you have left is the third number.

the average of x,y, and z is 80. IF two of the numbers are 74 and 78, then what is the other number?
---------------------
(74 + 78 + z)/3 = 80
152 + z = 240
z = 88
