Question 18180:
the sum of three consecutive integers is 243. find the smallest interger. here's the way i tried to solve it.
243
x
x+1
x+2 x+x+1+x+2=243
3x+3=243
3x=240
x=80
x+1=81
x+2=82
80+81+82=243
i'm having trouble finding the smallest integer.please help thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! YOU ARE PERFECTLY CORRECT.....GREAT JOB....BY SMALLEST INTEGER HE MEANS YOU TO TELL THE SMALLEST OF THE 3 INTEGERS YOU GOT ..NAMELY 80,81,82..SO THE ANSWER IS 80...OK SO YOU DID IT PROUD .KEEP IT UP
