there is another way to factor it, think it out
Simplify, divide by 2, and you have
6x^2 - x - 15
:
Start with:
(3x __) (2x __)
;
15 does not have many factors, 5 & 3 are good ones to try
how about
(3x 5) (2x 3)

Apply the signs that will give you the middle term
(3x - 5)(2x + 3)

To check this out
FOIL and you have
6x^2 - 10x + 9x - 15
which is
6x^2 - x - 15
Multiply that by 2 and you have the original expression
