: I need an explanation on HOW to solve the following problem so I can do the rest of the problems that are similar. I've read the book, but it's so confusing. I put the answer in case I didn't format it right. Thank you.
(2x^2 +7x + 3) / (x + 3) = 2x + 1 This question is from textbook Basic Technical Math with Calculus
You can put this solution on YOUR website! was this suppose to be done in LONG division or synthetic division or by some other method like reverse FOIL. You can see that the term in the 1st part of the factor has to be composed of 2x times x and the other term has to be factors of the constant 3. hence you end up with (x+3)(2x+1). notice the 1st terms (x*x(x^2) term) and the constant(3). the OI part of FOIL gives you the middle term(7x).
:
This is LONG division
