You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-2(x – 4) – (3x – 2) = -2( 6x – 2)
-2(x)-2(-4) -1(3x) -1(-2) = -2(6x) -2(-2)
-2x + 8 -3x +2 = -12x +4
-5x + 10 = -12x +4
-5x + 12x + 10 = -12x + 12x +4
7x + 10 = 4
7x + 10 - 10 = 4-10
7x= -6
7x/7= -6/7
1x= -6/7
x= -6/7
check:
-2(-6/7 -4) - (3*-6/7-2)=100/7
-2(6* -6/7 -2)= 100/7
NOTE: I TRIED TO SHOW ALL STEPS SO THAT HOPEFULLY IT MAKES SENSE, INCLUDING CHECKING BY SUBSTITUTING VALUE OF X INTO BOTH SIDE OF ORIGINAL PROBLEM...IF YOU HAVE A CALCULATOR USE IT IN CHECK STEP.
