if there are 6 FEET to 1 fathom and there are 120 FATHOMS
:
120 (fathoms) * 6 (feet /fathom)

120(6)=720 feet
:
notice on the units the fathom cancelled out leaving only feet. Paying attention to the units is a good way to check problems. Many times you can even solve problems with this method
