Question 180075: Solve the system of equations using the substitution method.
If the answer is a unique solution, present it as an ordered pair: (x, y). If not, specify whether the answer is "no solution" or "infinitely many solutions" and state how you arrived at that conclusion.
3x + y = 2
2x - y = 3
Explain the answer

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Solve the system of equations using the substitution method.
If the answer is a unique solution, present it as an ordered pair: (x, y). If not, specify whether the answer is "no solution" or "infinitely many solutions" and state how you arrived at that conclusion.
3x + y = 2
2x - y = 3 --> -y = 3-2x --> y = 2x-3
Sub for y into the 1st eqn
3x + (2x-3) = 3
5x = 6
x = 6/5 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
----------
y = 2x - 3
y = 12/5 - 3
y = -3/5 yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
(6/5,-3/5)
What is there to explain? That's where the lines cross.
