lets change the mixed fractions to improper fractions
:
2 and 1/2 is 5/2 and 3 and 1/16 is 49/16
:
(5/2)+(49k/16)+(1/8)=0........the LCD is 16 so lets convert each fraction to like terms
:
(40/16)+(49k/16)+(2/16)=0
:
49k/16=-42/16
:
49k=-42
