Question 179832: My Problem Is:
Y=2x+3
Y=4x-1
My teacher taught me today, but I left her room not understanding how to work this problem out. I'm not sure if they both start with "y" if the formula is the same or not. How do I do this problem? Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Y=2x+3
Y=4x-1
-----------
Since they are both equal to Y they must be equal to each other.
2x+3 = 4x-1
Substract 2x from both sides to get:
3 = 2x-1
Add 1 to both sides to get:
2x = 4
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
x = 2
