Question 179609: I am working with slopes and the issue I have is finding slopes when you are only given an equation
x=-3y
-------
Put it in slope-intercept form:
y = (-1/3)x
-------
slope = -1/3 ; intercept = 0
I understand that the above is the answer, but I am not sure how to come up with this answer. I guess my question is how do you put the equation x=-3y into the slope intercept form to get answer y = (-1/3)x----slope = -1/3
how does -3y turn into -1/3??????????????

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-3y=x
:
you are dividing BOTH sides by -3 to isolate the y
:
cross%28-3%29y%2Fcross%28-3%29=1x%2F-3
:
y=%28-1%2F3%29x
