Question 179349: Please help.
In 1991, the life expectancy of males in a certain country was 70.3 years. In 1998, it was 73.6 years. Let E represent the life expectancy in year t and let t represent the number of years since 1991. Answer by Mathtut(3670) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! E(t) has been resurrected.....lol
:
ok so from 1991 to 1998 we have a span of 7 years. In that time the life expectancy has increased by 3.3 years(73.6-73.3). To find a per year increase over this span we divide 3.3/7=.47. So life expectancy increased .47 years from 1991 to 1998. We want to write a formula based on this data
:
E(t)=.47(t)+70.3
:
so if you plug in 7 for t
:
e(7)=.47(7)+70.3=3.29+70.3=73.59 or 73.6 rounded off
