The points (1,3),(2,5)(8,17),(50,101),and (1000,2001) all lie on line M.
The points (1,-1),(2,-3),(8,-15),(50-99),(and (1000-1999) all lie on line N.
a.form the equations of both the lines.
b.what are the co-ordinates of the intersections of lines M and N

You can put this solution on YOUR website! How do we write the equation of a vertical line? what would be an example? If the line passes thru (a,b) the equation is x = a
 --------------------------------------------------------------------
The points (1,3),(2,5)(8,17),(50,101),and (1000,2001) all lie on line M.
 M: slope = (2/1) ; intercept = 3-2*1 = 1; Equation y = 2x+1
 ------------------------------------------------------------------
The points (1,-1),(2,-3),(8,-15),(50-99),(and (1000-1999) all lie on line N.
 N: slope = (-2/1), intercept = -1-(-2)1 = 1; Equation y = -2x+1
 -------------------------------------------------------------------
a.form the equations of both the lines.
 done
 ---------------------------
b.what are the co-ordinates of the intersections of lines M and N
 2x+1 = -2x+1; 4x=0 x = 0; y = 2x+1 or y = 2*0+1=1: Ans (0,1)
 ----------------------------
c.write the co-ordinates of the intersections of lines M and N with the x-axis
 Let y= 0 then for M: x = -1/2, so intersection is (-1/2,0)
 Let y= 0, then for N: x = 1/1, so intersection (1/2,0)
 -----------------
d.write the co-ordinates of the intersection of lines M and N with the y-axis.
 Let x = 0 for M; y = 1, so intersection is (0,1)
 Let x = 0 for N: y = 1, so intersection is (0,1)
