You can put this solution on YOUR website!
n/3=16-n
:
multiply all terms by 3
:
n=48-3n
:
4n=48......added 3n to both sides
:
highlight%28n=12%29divided both sides by 4

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can do anything to an equation,
as long as you do the same thing to both sides
Some things you could do make it less simple
You want to make it more simple
n%2F3+=+16+-+n
1st I'll multiply both sides by 3
3%2A%28n%2F3%29+=+3%2A%2816+-+n%29
n+=+48+-+3n
Now add 3n to both sides
n+%2B+3n+=+48+-+3n+%2B+3n
4n+=+48
n+=+12 answer
--------------------
Suppose I wanted to do something totally different?
Just to show you I'll get the same answer
I'll subtract n%2F3 from both sides
n%2F3+-+n%2F3+=+16+-+n+-+n%2F3
0+=+16+-+n+-+n%2F3
Now I'll divide both sides by n
0%2Fn+=+16%2Fn+-+n%2Fn+-+%281%2Fn%29%2A%28n%2F3%29
0+=+16%2Fn+-+1+-+1%2F3
Add 1+%2B+1%2F3 to both sides
16%2Fn+=+3%2F3+%2B+1%2F3
16%2Fn+=+4%2F3
Multiply both sides by n
16+=+%284%2F3%29%2An
Multiply both sides by 3
48+=+4n
n+=+12
That was the hard way, but I got the same answer
