Solve the following system by any method
x=5/4y+12 (I think you mean 5/(4y), but it could be 5/(4y).
4x-5y=12

Since x is already shown in terms of y, sub for x into the 2nd eqn.
4x-5y=12
4*((5y/4) + 12) -5y = 12
5y +48 -5y = 12
48 = 12
These 2 eqns are inconsistent, so there is no solution.
