You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) 1 1/2 x 5 2/3
(3/2) * (17/3) = 17/2 = 8 1/2
--------------------------------------
2) 1 5/6 divided by 2
(11/6) / (2/1) = (11/6)*(1/2) = 11/12
---------------------------------------
3) 2 1/2 divided by 3 1/3
(5/2) / (10/3) = (5/2)*(3/10) = 15/20 = 3/4

ok first we must convert these mixed fractions to improper fractions . Improper fractions are of the form whole number and fraction where as improper fractions take the form of a/b.
:
1 1/2 x 5 2/3
2) 1 5/6 divided by 2
3) 2 1/2 divided by 3 1/3
:
1)1 1/2=3/2
5 2/3=17/3
:
multiply %283%2F2%29%2A%2817%2F3%29=51%2F6=17%2F2
:
2)1 5/6=11/6
2=2/1
:
%2811%2F6%29%2F%282%2F1%29now invert bottom fraction and multiply
:
%2811%2F6%29%2A%281%2F2%29=11%2F12
:
2 1/2=5/2
3 1/3=10/3
:
%285%2F2%29%2F%2810%2F3%29again invert and multiply %285%2F2%29%2A%283%2F10%29=15%2F20=3%2F4

Note: to multiply and divide fractions, you MUST convert mixed fractions to improper fractions. So for example, the mixed fraction 1%261%2F2 converts to the improper fraction 3%2F2 (ie 1%261%2F2=3%2F2)

If you need help (or just some practice) with converting fractions, check out this solver

# 1

Note: 1%261%2F2=3%2F2 and 5%262%2F3=17%2F3

So 1%261%2F2 times 5%262%2F3 becomes

%283%2F2%29%2A%2817%2F3%29

Solved by pluggable solver: Fractions Solver

%283%2F2%29%2817%2F3%29 Start with the given expression

In order to multiply these fractions, simply multiply the numerators and denominators separately like this:

%283%2A17%29%2F%282%2A3%29 Multiply the numerators 3 and 17. Place them as the numerator. Multiply the denominators 2 and 3. Place them as the denominator

51%2F6 Now multiply

So

%283%2F2%29%2817%2F3%29=51%2F6

If want to reduce the fraction, 51%2F6 reduces to 17%2F2 (note: click here if you need help with reducing fractions)

----------------------------------------------------

# 2

Note: 1%265%2F6=11%2F6 and 2=2%2F1

So 1%265%2F6 divided by 2 becomes

%2811%2F6%29%2F%282%2F1%29

Solved by pluggable solver: Fractions Solver

%2811%2F6%29%2F%282%2F1%29 Start with the given expression

In order to divide these fractions, first we need to flip the second fraction 2%2F1 to get 1%2F2.

Now multiply the first fraction 11%2F6 by the second fraction 1%2F2

%2811%2F6%29%281%2F2%29

Now simply multiply the numerators and denominators separately like this:

%2811%2A1%29%2F%286%2A2%29 Multiply the numerators 11 and 1. Place them as the numerator. Multiply the denominators 6 and 2. Place them as the denominator

11%2F12 Now multiply

So

%2811%2F6%29%2F%282%2F1%29=11%2F12

----------------------------------------------------

# 3

Note: 2%261%2F2=5%2F2 and 3%261%2F3=10%2F3

So 2%261%2F2 divided by 3%261%2F3 becomes

%285%2F2%29%2F%2810%2F3%29

Solved by pluggable solver: Fractions Solver

%285%2F2%29%2F%2810%2F3%29 Start with the given expression

In order to divide these fractions, first we need to flip the second fraction 10%2F3 to get 3%2F10.

Now multiply the first fraction 5%2F2 by the second fraction 3%2F10

%285%2F2%29%283%2F10%29

Now simply multiply the numerators and denominators separately like this:

%285%2A3%29%2F%282%2A10%29 Multiply the numerators 5 and 3. Place them as the numerator. Multiply the denominators 2 and 10. Place them as the denominator

15%2F20 Now multiply

So

%285%2F2%29%2F%2810%2F3%29=15%2F20
