You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The volume of a sphere is
V=%284%2F3%29%28pi%29r%5E3
So if the diameter is 2.5 inches, the radius is (2.5)/2 inches, which is 1.25 inches. So the volume of the tennis ball is
V=%284%2F3%29%28pi%291.25%5E3
V=%284%2F3%29%28pi%29%281.953125%29=8.2
So volume is 8.2 in^3.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Note: if the diameter is 2.5, then the radius is 1.25

V=%284%2F3%29%2Api%2Ar%5E3 Start with the given volume of a sphere formula

V+=+%284%2F3%29%2Api%2A%281.25%29%5E3 Plug in r=1.25

V+=+%284%2F3%29%2Api%2A%281.953%29 Cube 2.5 to get 1.953

V=+24.542%2F3 Multiply (note: I'm using 3.14 for pi)

V=+8.180 Divide

So the volume to the nearest tenth of an inch is V=8.2

A regulation tennis ball has a diameter of 2.5 inches. Find the volume of the tennis ball, rounded to the nearest tenth inch.
-----------------
The volume of a sphere is 4%2Api%2Ar%5E3%2F3
V+=+4%2Api%2A1.25%5E3%2F3
V =~ 8.2 cubic inches
