My son asked me for help in resolving this: 3/16+11/15+7+12. I do not want you to resolve the equatiation just if you can point me with guides so i can refresh my memory. or websites that can show me how to understand and resolve this kind of problems I will appreciate it very much. Thanks

the resolution is governed by the PEMDAS order of operations 
__ Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction
 
 
all of the quantities (fractions and whole numbers) add together
 
 
probably the hardest part is finding a "common denominator" so that you can add the fractions
 
 
the most straight forward technique is to multiply the denominators together
 
 
so the fractions in this case become (3*15)/(16*15) or 45/240 
__ and (11*16)/(15*16) or 176/240
 
 
adding the quantities gives 19 221/240
