You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Dividing the profits in direct proportion to
amount invested by each:
X:
9000+%2F+%289000+%2B+7000+%2B+4000%29+=+9000%2F20000
9000%2F20000+=+9%2F20
Y:
7000%2F%289000+%2B+7000+%2B+4000%29+=+7000%2F20000
7000%2F20000+=+7%2F20
Z:
4000%2F%289000+%2B+7000+%2B+4000%29+=+4%2F20
--------
Given:
profits = 4800
--------
X would receive %289%2F20%29%2A4800+=+2160
If the profits were divided equally, X would get
4800%2F3+=+1600
Doing it this way, X would get 2160+-+1600+=+560 less
X would get $560 less
