any number can be taken as x.if we multiply it with 2 it will be always an even number
so let the 3 consecutive even umbers be 2x,2x+2,2x+4 (consecutive even numbers differ by 2 as you can see from 2,4,6,8 etc....)
smallest=2x
largest=2x+4
their sum =2x+2x+4=36
4x=36-4=32
x=32/4=8
so the numbers are 2*8,2*8+2,2*8+4
that is 16,18,20
