Then, x%2B4=Cora's Age
As per condition:
R%2BC=40
x%2Bx%2B4=40
2x=40-4=36
cross%282%29x%2Fcross%282%29=cross%2836%2918%2Fcross%282%29
x=18yrs Age of Rose
18%2B4=highlight%2822%29 Cora's Age

Let Cora’s age be x
We know that Cora is 4 years older than Rose; so, her age is x+-4.
We know that the sum of Cora and Rose age is 40, we will set up an equation and find out what is x or Cora’s age.
x%2Bx+-4=40
2x+-4=40
2x+=+40+%2B+4
2x+=+44
x+=+44%2F2
x+=+22……….. Cora is +22 old.
Rose is 22+-4=18old.
