You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two rainstorms occured in one week in a certain area in the first storm 30mL of rain fell per hour, and in the second storm 15 mL of rain fell per hour. Rain fell that week for a total of 45 hours for a total rain fall of 975 mL how long was each storm.
Time of 1st storm + time of 2nd storm = total time rain fell
f + s = 45
f(30) + s(15) = 975
f + s = 45(-30)
30f + 15s = 975
-30f - 30s = - 1350
- 15s = - 375
s = 25
f + 25 = 45
f = 20
The 1st storm lasted 20 hours, while the 2nd storm lasted 25 hours
