Let the boy's age be x years now.
So 5 yrs ago his age was (x-5) yrs.
According to the problem,
present age = 2*(age 5 yrs ago)
x = 2*(x-5)
x = 2x - 10
x = 10

The boy is now 10 yrs. old.
