Question 17551: I have been trying to solve this for days and could really use some help. Will you take a stab at it?
The Problem:
Every time you make pumpkin pie, you divide it into 8 pieces. As you eat each piece of pie, you drink 1 cup of coffee. If your pumpkin pie recipe calls for 12oz of pumpkin per pie, how many cups of coffee will you drink if you eat every piece of every pie you made with this pumpkin? Assume that every part of the pumpkin can be used in your pie.
Hint:
The pumpkin's height is 28" and has a circumference of 95".

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If you think about this, you will solve it easily. In the story, you are eating only one pie that is disected into 8 pieces; if you eat a whole pie, you will eat 8 pieces. If you drink 1 cup of coffee per piece of pie, then wouldn't you drink 8 cups of coffee?
I think the answer is 8 cups!
