:
a=b+40.....eq 1
a+b=180....eq 2
:
take a's value from eq 1 and plug it into eq 2
:
b+40+b=180
:
2b=140
:

I have no idea what you mean by Rs, but if there are a total of 180 of them,
let x = the number that one person gets,
x+40 = the number that the other person gets.

x+x+40= 180
2x=140
x=70
x+40= 110

Check: 70+110= 180
