You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/y=5 cross multiply.
5y=2
y=2/5
y=.4 ans.
-------------------
(1/3)/8 invert the denominator (8/1 becomes 1/8) & multiply.
1/3*1/8
1/24 ans.

What you have, written in a better way is
2y+=+%285%2B%281%2F3%29%29%2F8
I'm not sure what level math you are at, but
here's how I'd do it:
2y+=+%285%2B%281%2F3%29%29%2F8
multiply both sides by 8
16y+=+5+%2B+1%2F3
multiply both sides by 3
48y+=+15+%2B+1
48y+=+16
y+=+1%2F3
