Like most things, it's easy IF you know how.
The object is to get y on one side of the equal sign by itself.
80-9y=6y
Add 9y to both sides
--> 80 = 15y
Then divide by 15
80/15 = y
Then reduce (not always possible or necessary)
y = 16/3
That's it. Take a break.
