Question 174290: z^2+9z+18
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! z^2+9z+18
------------
Think of two numbers whose product is 18 and whose sum is 9.
The numbers are 6 and 3.
Replace 9z by 6z+3z to get:
----------
z^2 + 6z + 3z + 18
Factor the 1st two terms and the last two terms separately to get:
z(z+6) + 3(z+6)
Factor again
(z+6)(z+3)
================
