Vertical lines are of the form x=a where "a" is the x-coordinate of the point that the line goes through. In this case, the x-coordinate of the point (7,-6) is 7. So this means that the vertical line that goes through (7,-6) is x=7


Horizontal lines fit the form y=b where "b" is the y-coordinate of the given point. So in this case, the y coordinate of (7,-6) is -6 which means that the horizontal line is y=-6
