Question 174256: x^2 + 2^x = 100
I know the answer is 6, but have no idea how to solve this.
I know how to graph it to get an approximation.
I know how to use iterative methods, and Excel.
Is there a way to find an exact solution?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I gave this one my best shot, and I don't see an algebraic solution to this one. Maybe one of the other tutors can come up with something, but I think your iterative methods are the right way to tackle this one.
