Question 174030: Ok, I just submitted this question so I am sorry for re-submitting it.
x+7y=8
x=6-7y
I plugged in x and I really don't know what I am doing wrong, I guess I should have added this in my first question about this problem:
6-7y+7y=8
6-14y=8
I think I am getting signs mixed up or something, but I have tried it different ways and cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+7y=8
x=6-7y
6-7y+7y=8
6=8 no unique solurion for these 2 equations because:
x+7y=8
-(x+7y=6) adding these 2 equations we get:
-------------
0x+0y=2
0=2 does not compute.
Another proof:
7y=-x+8
y=-x/7+8/7 (red line)
7y=-x+6
y=-x/7+6/7 (green line)
