2x+y=5
3x-y=10

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
using the process of elimination.....which means you manipulate the current equations so that when one added or subtracted from the other a variable is eliminated.
:
2x+y=5
3x-y=10
:
in our case no manipulation is needed because when you add the two equations together, the way they currently stand, the y terms are eliminated because y-y=0. We are left with 2x+3x=10+5
:
5x=15

:
now take x's found value and plug it back into either equation and solve for y.I choose the first
:
2(3)+y=5
:
6+y=5
:

:
the graph confirms the lines cross at (3,-1)
