You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-miles drove by Pete
y=1/2x+65 -miles drove by Tyson
then the sum of the miles they drove together write as :
x+1/2x+65=500 solve for x
3/2x=435
x=290 and y=210

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Tyson drove m miles. So Pete must have driven 2%28m-65%29=2m-130 miles.

And we know that m+%2B+2m+-+130=500

Solving:

3m-130=500
3m=630
m=210
So Tyson drove 210 miles
And 2%28210%29-130=290 miles which is the distance Pete drove. 210 + 290 = 500 so the answer checks.
