You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope is the "rise over the run". That is, it is the change in the y coordinates divided by the change in the x coordinates.

slope = %284-%28-1%29%29%2F%28-10-%28-1%29%29
slope = 5%2F-9
slope = -5/9

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m=%28y%5B2%5D-y%5B1%5D%29%2F%28x%5B2%5D-x%5B1%5D%29 Start with the slope formula.

m=%28-1-4%29%2F%28-4--10%29 Plug in y%5B2%5D=-1, y%5B1%5D=4, x%5B2%5D=-4, and x%5B1%5D=-10

m=%28-5%29%2F%28-4--10%29 Subtract 4 from -1 to get -5

m=%28-5%29%2F%286%29 Subtract -10 from -4 to get 6

So the slope of the line that goes through the points and is m=-5%2F6
