Question 172736: Help me please...
Solve these systems by the elimination method.
x + 6y = -41
-x + 9y = 49
5x + 3y = -13
7x - 2y = 11
What are the solutions to the system. (Type an ordered pair. Type an integer or a fraction. Type N is there is no solution. Type I if there are infinitely many solutions)
Thank you in advance for your help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve these systems by the elimination method.
x + 6y = -41
-x + 9y = 49
Add the 2 eqns
0x + 15y = 8
y = 8/15
---------
Sub into eqn 1
x + 6*8/15 = -41
15x + 48 = -615
15x = -663
x = -221/5
---------
5x + 3y = -13
7x - 2y = 11
Multiply eqn 1 by 2 and eqn 2 by 3 to get 6y in both.
10x + 6y = -26
21x - 6y = 33
Add the 2 eqns
31x = 7
x = 7/31
--------
Sub into either to find y.
