You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let your number be x.

Four times your number is then 4x and that reduced by 3 is 4x - 3

Three times the number is 3x and that added to 5 is 3x + 5

Since 4x+-+3 is not more than 3x+%2B+5 then it can either be less than or equal because neither less than nor equal is more than.

Hence: 4x-3%3C=3x%2B5

Add -3x to both sides:

x-3%3C=5

Add 3 to both sides:

x%3C=8

So any number less than or equal to 8 will satisfy the given relationship.

Check:
Try 8
32-3=29%3C=24%2B5=29 Checks

Try a number less than 8, like 7
28-3=25%3C=21%2B5=26 Checks

Try a number larger than 8
36-3=33 and 27%2B5=32 Checks because a number larger than 8 makes the statement false.
