Question 172249: 1.)a hexagon,a six sided figure,has two equal sides and four sides each measuring 12cm,16cm,18cm,and 24cm.find the length of one of the equal sides if the perimeter of the hexagon is 100cm.2.)In an isosceles triangle,there are two sides,called legs,with the same length.The third side is called the base.If an isosceles triangle has a perimeter of 345cm and base length of 85 cm,what is the length of each leg?3.)A triangle has sides with lengths in centimeters that are consecutive even integers.Find the lengths if the perimeter of the triangle is 186cm.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The perimeter of a polygon is the distance around the outside of the polygon.
To find the perimeter of a polygon you have take the sum of the length of each side.
1.)a hexagon,a six sided figure,has two equal sides and four sides each measuring 12cm,16cm,18cm,and 24cm.find the length of one of the equal sides if the perimeter of the hexagon is 100cm.
Formula for perimeter of hexagon
P=a+b+c+d+2e (there you have two equal sides = e)
Now substitute P=100, a=12, b=16, c=18, d=24 and solve for e.
2.)In an isosceles triangle,there are two sides,called legs,with the same length.The third side is called the base.If an isosceles triangle has a perimeter of 345cm and base length of 85 cm,what is the length of each leg?
Formula for perimeter of isosceles triangle (it has two equal sides)
P=2a+b
substitute P=345, b=85 and solve for a
3.)A triangle has sides with lengths in centimeters that are consecutive even integers.Find the lengths if the perimeter of the triangle is 186cm.
Perimeter of triangle P=a+b+c
if side a is the smallest side of the triangle and it is a positive integer then second side b = a+2 and third c= a+4
Then
186=a+(a+2)+(a+4) solve for a
