You can put this solution on YOUR website! I worked this problem backwards.  The first item tells you that you need 1/8 of a number.  The final answer tells you it is 2.  So, 1/8 of some number is 2.  That is x/8 = 2.  This is 16.  So the top part of my fraction must equal 16.  It tells me the top part of the fraction is the sqare root of a number (x) less 7.  So the squre root of x-7 = 16.  Square both sides of the equation you get x-7=256, x = 263.  Plug in an x value of 263 and check. the square root of 263-7 = 16, 16/8 = 2.  The answer is x = 263
