You can put this solution on YOUR website! Convert the mixed number to an improper fraction, i.e. a fraction with a numerator larger than the denominator, then invert the divisor and multiply just like any other fraction divided by fraction problem.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! change the mixed number to an improper fraction and invert the fraction your dividing by and multiply it by the improper fraction.
:
4 and 1/5 is the same as (20/5)+(1/5)=21/5 or you can take the whole number in
:
the mixed number like this one and multiply it by the denominator of the
:
fraction and add the numberator all over the denominator. In our 4 and 1/5 case
:
4 times 5 which is 20 +1 all over 5 is 21/5. you can do it either way.
:
once you have it in this form lets say your dividing 4 and 1/5 by 3/4
: ...you would change mixed number to a fraction 21/5
: .........now invert 3/4 to 4/3 and multiply it by 21/5
: = now simplfy or re write into a mixed
:
number....5 and 3/5.
