You can put this solution on YOUR website! Mrs. ellis is 28 years older than her daughter. In 11 years she will be 3 times as old as her daughter.How old is each now
--------------
NOW DATA:
Let daughter be x yrs old
Mrs. is x+28 yrs old
---------------------------
11 yrs from now DATA:
daughter will be x+11 yrs.old
Mrs will be x + 28+11 = x+39 yrs. old
----------------------------------------
EQUATION:
Mrs = 3*daughter
x+39 = 3(x+11)
x+39 = 3x+33
2x = 6
x = 3 (daughter's age NOW)
Mrs = x+28 = 31 yrs old NOW

You can put this solution on YOUR website! call mrs ellis age e and her daughters d
:
e=d+28...eq 1
e+11=3(d+11)..eq 2----->distribute---->e+11=3d+33.
:
now take the value of e in eq 1 and plug it into eq 2
:
(d+28)+11=3d+33
:
d+39=3d+33---> combine like terms
:
2d=6
: daughters age
: mrs ellis age
