first times (1/3)9b and (1/3)1 to get
3b+1/3=b-1
then you want to subtract the b from both sides
2b+1/3=-1
now you want to -1/3 to both sides
2b=2/3
divide the 2 on both sides
b=2/6 or simplified 1/3
