You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Mr. Scott is three times as old as Betty. In eight years the sum of their ages will be 64. How old is Betty now?
Betty's age = x
Scott's age = 3x
(x + 3x) + 8 years = 64
4x + 8 = 64
4x = 64 - 8
4x = 56
x = 56/4
x = 14
Betty is 14 years old.
Scott is 14 times 3 or 42 years old.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
S=3B
(S+8)+(B+8)=64
(3B+8)+B+8=64
4B=64-8-8
4B=64-16
4B=48
B=48/4
B=12 AGE OF BETTY NOW.
pROOF:
3*12+8+12+8=64
36+28=64
64=64
