I know that you have to get the problem on one side to + 0, but I am having problems with trying to work it out, please help me. Thank you Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! sqrt(2w^2-3w-4)=sqrt(w^2+6w+6)
squaring both sides we get:
2w^2-3w-4=w^2+6w+6
2w^2-w^2-3w-6w-4-6=0
w^2-9w-10=0
(w-10)(w+1)=0
w-10=0
w=10 ans.
w+1=0
w=-1 ans.
Proof:
sqrt(2*10^2-3*10-4)=sqrt(10^2+6*10+6)
sqrt(2*100-30-4)=sqrt(100+60+6)
sqrt(200-34)=sqrt(166)
sqrt(166)=sqrt(166)
