Question 169646: Will you please help me with the following problem? I need to express Log base three of twenty seven to the negative third power as a product and then simplify it. I have tried writing it as an exponential equation instead but it didn't go so well. I got stuck once I changed it into Three to the x power is equal to twenty seven to the negative third power. Am I even on the right track? Please help!

I'm not sure that's what you mean, but it might be.
27%5E%28-1%2F3%29+=+1%2F27%5E%281%2F3%29
=log%283%2C%281%2F27%5E%281%2F3%29%29%29
27%5E%281%2F3%29 is the cube root of 27, which is 3 so it's
log%283%2C%281%2F3%29%29
And that is -1.
