yes, 6x-3=39......x=7 because when you add 3 to each side you have 6x=42
:
then divide by 6 and highlight%28x=7%29
:
3y-7=5y+1.....subtract 3y and 1 from each side ..which gives you 2y=-8...now
:
divide by 2 and highlight%28y=-4%29
:
6x-4(3x+8)=16......first distribute the term 4(3x+8)....6x-12x-32=16....now
:
combine the x terms -6x-32=16....add 32 to each side -6x=48....divide by -6....
:
highlight%28x=-8%29
