Question 1678: I need to simplify these problems and I am having trouble.
1. (x^3 + 5x^2 + 2x - 8) / (x - 1)
2. (y^3 - 19y - 30) / (y + 2)
3. (t^4 + 10t^3 + 35t^2 + 50t + 24) / (t^2 + 7t + 12)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1. noting the topic is simplifying...i would assume that the numerator will factorise to (x-1)(something) and then you can cancel the (x-i) terms and possibly factorise the quadratic further.
2. same again.
3. same again.
Practise long division of polynomials, to get your factors out.
enjoy :-)
